Old Fashioned Club grades every piece on a five-level condition scale, from best to most worn: New, Never worn, Very good condition, Good condition and Fair condition. Condition is assigned by our experts during authentication; every sign of use is described and photographed on the product page.
The five condition grades
- NewNever used, with tags
A brand-new piece, never worn or used, usually with its original tags and packaging. No signs of handling. Equivalent to a boutique purchase.
What to expect : Expect a flawless item, with tags and dustbag where the maison provides them.

- Never wornAs new, no tags
A piece that has never been worn, in as-new condition, but which may have been unboxed or lost its tags. No wear of any kind. The item has never been used.
What to expect : Expect an as-new piece; tags may be missing, with no sign of wear whatsoever.
Equivalent wording: Jamais Porté · Never worn
- Very good conditionGently used, minimal traces
A piece that has been worn but carefully maintained, showing only minimal, discreet signs of use such as light marks on corners, base or hardware. Structure and materials remain excellent.
What to expect : Expect very light signs of use, visible up close, with no prominent flaw.

- Good conditionVisible wear, fully wearable
A worn piece with visible but even signs of use: patina, marks on corners or lining, light hardware oxidation. The item remains sturdy, functional and fully wearable.

- Fair conditionMarked wear, vintage piece
A heavily used piece showing marked wear: pronounced patina, visible flaws, possible restorations. Often a sought-after vintage item. Every flaw is described and pictured without reservation.
What to expect : Expect clear signs of wear; price and description fully reflect the condition.

What does “Very good condition” mean at Old Fashioned Club?
A piece in very good condition has been worn but carefully maintained: it shows only minimal, discreet signs of use (light marks on corners, base or hardware). Its structure and materials remain excellent.
What are the possible condition grades?
Our scale has five levels, from best to most worn: New, Never worn, Very good condition, Good condition and Fair condition. Each level has a precise definition, and every sign of use is described and photographed on the product page.
How is a piece's condition determined?
Condition is assigned by our experts during authentication. Each piece is inspected in detail, its grade is recorded on our condition scale, and any signs of use are photographed for full transparency.
Can a pre-owned piece be new?
Yes. A piece graded “New” has never been worn or used and usually keeps its tags. A “Never worn” piece is in as-new condition but may have been unboxed or lost its tags.
