The Nike Legend was first launched in 1983 and is one of basketball’s most legendary sneakers. Its simple design featured a single white upper with the Nike brand swoosh. The shoe was designed for “heavyweight” basketball players and was worn by Patrick Ewing when he played for the Georgetown Hoyas.

The Nike Legend was a testing ground for many new innovations in basketball technology. It was one of the first Nike basketball sneakers to feature a colored outsole. It was also one of the first Nike basketball shoes to feature a perforated toe cap.
