Design History:<\/strong>
Philippe Dumas, grandson of \u00c9mile Herm\u00e8s and in-house illustrator, was inspired by the Cirque Molier, an equestrian cabaret founded in 1880 in Paris by Baron de Molier and frequented by Belle \u00c9poque high society. Published in 1983, the square is part of the Herm\u00e8s tradition of paying tribute to the arts of the horse, extending the house’s saddlery heritage while capturing the effervescence of the popular French show. <\/p>\n

The light blue background highlights a central circle bordered by a saffron border. The navy border hosts a dense frieze of characters – riders, elegant ladies, officers – illustrating the social dimension of the amateur circus. The chestnut horses, harnessed with feathers, draw a dynamic circular movement. The fine prints reveal the quality of Herm\u00e8s serigraphy: clean contours, homogeneous solids, colors superimposed without shifting. Rolled-up hems, discreet \u00a9 Herm\u00e8s signature at noon. <\/p>\n

Satin-finish reverse side identical to the right side, a guarantee of the twill’s density (approx. 65 g\/m\u00b2). The twill weave offers a slight diagonal relief that facilitates folding without marking the thread. No lining is necessary; the hand of silk naturally confers fluidity and hold around the neck or hair. <\/p>\n

Vintage scarf in very good condition: fresh colors, silk still shiny, firm hems. To note, micro-creases at the corners and tiny general patina, consistent with a carefully preserved 80s accessory. No stains, pulled threads or discolorations visible in natural light. <\/p>\n
