Created by Philippe Ledoux, Herm\u00e8s’ iconic illustrator from the 1950s onwards, the Proues<\/em> square pays homage to naval architecture, more specifically to the sculpted ornaments on the prows of 17th and 18th century galleons and royal vessels. The marine theme is a recurring theme in the Herm\u00e8s universe, linked to the heritage of travel and the equestrian world. Originally published in 1968, this design has been reissued several times, embodying the classic, symmetrical aesthetic so dear to the House. <\/p>\n

The entire square is framed by a golden rope forming a central circle and decorative outline. Each corner is adorned with interlocking anchors, underscoring the nautical theme. The stylized prows, meticulously drawn, alternate between warm tones (reds and golds) and cool tones (blues and whites), creating a striking visual balance. The center features a royal gold ornament on a navy background, dominated by a gold figurehead and crown. The edges are hand-rolled in the Herm\u00e8s tradition.
