The Haut \u00e0 Courroies (or “HAC”) was the very first travel bag designed by Herm\u00e8s in the late 19th century to carry riding boots and other bulky items. It was this model that inspired the creation of the Birkin in the 1980s. The version presented here, dated 1982 (letter “L” in a circle), perfectly illustrates the transition between equestrian tradition and modern luxury. Epsom leather, introduced later, gives this version a rigid, elegant appearance, while remaining light and easy to care for. <\/p>\n
