Chanel short jacket in tweed and black silk, from the Prêt-à-porter Automne/Hiver 2006/07 collection, “Paris on stage. Belted at the waist by a delicate silk tie, this model hugs the silhouette with subtle elegance. The 3/4 sleeves, zipper closure and two small front flap pockets add a modern touch to this timeless piece. Fully lined in black silk.

The show, orchestrated in a specially designed theater set in the nave of the Grand Palais, summoned the spirit of the Parisian stage. Against a backdrop of black and white, Gabrielle Chanel’s signature palette, the models paraded in satin bows and ribbons to the chicly casual soundtrack of Serge Gainsbourg songs, in a show that blended couture and poetry, Paris and the stage, allure and attitude.
