Chanel long jacket “The farm”

Chanel coat, bucolic elegance and exceptional know-how come together in this piece from the “Une Ferme à Paris” collection (Spring-Summer 2010), designed by Karl Lagerfeld. Made entirely of beige linen, it is lined with tone-on-tone silk, printed with camellias, offering subtle reflections in the light.
The finishes are particularly refined: the borders, shoulders and seams are delicately inspired by wheat ears patterns, echoing the pastoral theme of the collection. The coat has four pockets, it is decorated with two gold metal buttons, finely engraved with the iconic double C, a wheelbarrow and ears of wheat, a nod to the rural elements dear to this collection.
This line pays homage to the idyllic world of Marie-Antoinette’s Hameau in Versailles and the paintings of Jean-Honoré Fragonard, mixing rustic poetry and Parisian sophistication.
