Jacket from the 2008 Métiers d’art Paris-London collection. Karl Lagerfeld was inspired by Coco Chanel’s ties to English style, forged during her relationship with Arthur “Boy” Capel (the British businessman and polo player who was the love of her life) and the Duke of Westminster, with whom she traveled in England and especially Scotland, the land of tweed.
