Chanel vintage tweed pink set

Magnificent vintage Chanel ensemble from the Prêt-à-Porter Fall/Winter 1991/92 collection, entitled “Nouveau rappeur”.

Comprising a pink tweed jacket edged with a black grosgrain stripe, this model is distinguished by its gold buttons adorned with an embossed clover engraved CHANEL on the back.

The jacket features four patch pockets with lapels on the front and is fully lined in silk.

A rare ensemble from Karl Lagerfeld’s “New Rapper” collection, this jacket illustrates the stylistic audacity of the early 90s. For this collection, Lagerfeld rethought the codes of luxury through an aesthetic inspired by the emerging hip-hop culture: “Technicolor tweed”, unexpected superimpositions, oversized accessories, quilted caps and surprising plays on materials such as leather, denim and silk.
