Jordan 11 Concord – Year 1995
1995 Original Jordan XI Concord
Among the pantheon of timeless classic sneakers is the Air Jordan 11 “Concord”, the elegant black and white patent leather colorway of Tinker Hatfield’s iconic 1995 design.
Michael Jordan debuted this shoe in the 1995 playoffs against the Orlando Magic. Tinker Hatfield advised MJ not to wear the shoes during the game as they weren’t quite ready for the market, but Michael was so enamored with them that he laced them up anyway. The legend of the “Concord” only lasted two games, as the color didn’t comply with league regulations. For Game 3, he borrowed his rival Penny Hardaway’s Air Flight One. In Game 4, he returned with another color of 11 Black/Royal, later nicknamed “Space Jam” for its appearance in the film of the same name. Nicknamed “Concord” for its subtle purple/blue accents on the sole, this shoe was finally released in November 1995. The heel no longer featured the temporary “45”, as MJ definitively reverted to “23”.
