Description
Model History:
This piece comes from the Fall/Winter 2020 collection of the Men’s line, designed by Virgil Abloh, then artistic director of Louis Vuitton since 2018. Architect by training, DJ, multidisciplinary designer, Abloh marked his era with a vision that transcended the boundaries between fashion, urban culture and conceptual art. The first black designer to occupy this position within the house, he imposed an unprecedented visual grammar at Vuitton: that of remix, deconstruction, and the diversion of historical symbols of luxury.
This Keepall, with its tactile tufting inspired by artisanal carpet techniques and its oversized design, sums up his approach in itself: injecting meaning, contrast and contemporaneity into the icons of the heritage. This multipocket version is at the same time a functional object, a style manifesto and a collector’s item, embodying the fusion between textile innovation, streetwear functionality and identity narrative that Virgil was able to impose with genius.
Exterior Details:
The covering is in tufted wool, applied to a textile base, using a technique inspired by the art of carpeting. This dense and textured material creates a visual effect in relief, both graphic and tactile, with an oversized Monogram pattern alternating deep brown and saffron yellow. The three zipped pockets at the front integrate harmoniously into the structure, including a thin one ideal for a phone. On the right and left, two large identical side pockets offer a subtle balance between raw material and texture: one in rigid natural leather, the other in tufted textile. The front includes a natural leather card holder, sewn directly onto the body of the bag, and a mini-pouch housing a key ring with gold hooks, discreet and practical. The rounded handles, the adjustable shoulder strap and the golden brass finishes complete the look. Dimensions: approximately 50 x 29 x 23 cm.
Interior Details:
The interior is sober and functional: a resistant black textile canvas, without compartments, which preserves the integrity of the volume while contrasting with the richness of the exterior. The large zipped opening allows full and fluid access to the contents.
Product Condition:
The bag is in excellent condition. The tufted textile maintains its density, without visible tears or signs of wear. The natural leather has a soft and even patina, without scratches or pronounced marks. The closures are functional, the pockets well formed, the golden hooks of the key ring shiny and without oxidation. All original accessories are included.
Care Tips:
Protect tufted textiles from prolonged humidity, repeated friction and direct sunlight. Occasional gentle brushing is enough to maintain the material. Natural leather can be occasionally nourished with a neutral treatment to maintain its suppleness. Store the bag in its cover, on a hanger or flat, protected from dust.
Why Choose This Product:
This Keepall 50 Tuffetage Multipocket is much more than a travel bag: it is a work of functional design by Virgil Abloh, at the crossroads of heritage luxury and contemporary experimentation. Its unique texture, its multi-pocket architecture and its details thought out to the smallest finishes make it an imposing, rare and visionary object. For collectors, fans of the Abloh era or lovers of strong and meaningful pieces, this model represents a brilliant synthesis of the cultural revolution that the designer brought about within Louis Vuitton.
