Superb vintage Chanel jacket size 34 from the Métiers d’art Paris-Edimbourg 2012/2013 collection. Entirely hand-sewn and crafted in cotton, it is lined with wool for the body and silk for the sleeves. Iridescent fir-green python finishes add a precious touch to this piece. The delicately worked glass paste buttons testify to the savoir-faire of the Chanel ateliers. Each sleeve is adorned with two buttons at the end.
In this collection, Karl Lagerfeld pays tribute to Scottish romanticism. Unveiled at Linlightgow Palace, former stronghold of the Stuart family and birthplace of Marie Stuart, the collection pays tribute to Chanel’s long-standing ties with Scotland. Coco Chanel spent several visits there in the 1920s with the Duke of Westminster, drawing inspiration from Scottish tweed to create one of the house’s most emblematic codes.
The jacket is in very good condition, a rare piece symbolic of the Chanel universe.
