Hermès “Springs” silk square

Product code2565

Hermès square in silk twill “New Springs” silk twill. Emblematic Hermès model, revisited by Dimitri Rybaltchenko, published in 2009/2010. New Springs is a reinterpretation of the iconic “Springs” model, first published in 1974. The former model was imagined by the famous illustrator Philippe Ledoux, and these squares transport us to the heart of French imperial history. Inspired by an engraving preserved in the Château de Malmaison, it depicts a miniature carriage given to L’Aiglon, son of Napoleon I. The name Spring evokes Phaeton, a figure from Greek mythology, son of Helios, who lost control of his father’s sun chariot, setting the sky and Earth ablaze. The dominant hues of this square are brown, yellow and beige. In very good condition.
