Nike Sierra Denim – Year 1980

Product code10548

With the expansion of Nike’s production facilities after the late 1970s, a variety of models began to invade catalog pages. Manufacturing in Japan and the USA continued, but as these factories had high production costs, they could not produce low-cost pairs. As a result, the number of shoes made in Korea or Taiwan increased. The Sierra was considered the “exotic” model (including the “rainbow” or “Carib” sierra, for example) and was therefore very eye-catching and successful.

This “Denim & Silver” version, made in 1980, with a cement-gray outsole, was strictly produced for the Japanese market. The “inverted colors” box also adds to the exclusivity of this model.
